ABOUT
Egion Consulting was set up by Roy Mitropoulos in 2017. Previous to that Roy had worked at BP for 29 years in a number of countries as a project and programme manager and later as a transformation manager. He has worked in the downstream and midstream and had experience of working in several countries in Europe (UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Hungary, Greece and Turkey), the US, South Africa, India and China. From 2012 onwards he has worked almost exclusively on M&A Projects. He got into M&A by accident, as a business he had worked in for 12 years was put up for sale, and he was asked to project manage the divestment right through from initial teaser and information memorandum, through to separation planning and execution. Towards the end of his career at BP he was the main "go to person" in BP for project management of M&A Projects, leading cross functional teams in different parts of the company, and working on a number of divestments, carveouts and an acquisition. At the end of 2016 he decided to set up his own company specialising in M&A project management and interim services.
Since then he has worked for several large clients including BP, Shell, and GSK and for private equity, in oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and building services (the skillset is transferable). He has now played a leading role in 6 divestments, 1 company split and 2 acquisitions and enjoys bringing his experience to help new clients.
While project management is his core area of expertise, Roy has also carried out strategy and transformation work for clients including strategic studies, investment analysis and market entry.
